Yuki Okada is an ambitious young journalist desperate to write stories that actually matter. Instead, he spends his days polishing reputations, chasing manufactured scandals, and watching the newspaper he once believed in drift further away from real journalism.
Then he spills his coffee on Hiroshi Takahashi. Hiroshi is a renowned businessman, composed, powerful, and seemingly impossible to unsettle. What begins as a chance encounter becomes an unexpected connection when Yuki is assigned to interview him. Their attraction grows increasingly difficult to ignore, especially as Yuki begins questioning his strained relationship with his boyfriend, Jiro.
But their love story develops alongside something far more dangerous. After Hiroshi acquires Yuki’s struggling newspaper, Yuki begins noticing disturbing inconsistencies surrounding his editor, Mr. Tanaka: fake political polls, glowing articles written to benefit powerful figures, suspicious financial transactions, gambling debts, and meetings with dangerous men.
Together, Yuki and Hiroshi uncover a web of propaganda, money, corruption, and criminal influence that reaches far beyond the newsroom. The closer they get to the truth, the more their private lives become weapons. Hiroshi’s ex-wife, Mika, discovers their relationship and sees an opportunity. Jiro’s jealousy makes him vulnerable to manipulation. Tanaka grows increasingly desperate as the people controlling him tighten their grip.
Soon, Yuki is not simply reporting on a dangerous story. He’s living inside it.
